These ingredients react in water giving off carbon dioxide leaving only Vitamin C, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and zinc. This buffered mixture (pH ~5.6) is rapidly and effectively absorbed by the body and eliminates the acid buildup that can occur when taking just ascorbic acid forms of Vitamin C.
